With Grandma and Grandpa here I am playing like crazy. These are a bunch of pictures of play time. I learned things like dead bug, London Bridge, Ring Around the Rosy, and many more crazy fun things to do. There were a few videos you can check out in the TobinTube section of the website. If you scroll down under “second year” you’ll see the new ones listed.
I am already missing Grandma and Grandpa! I guess mom and dad are alright.
Today we went to the Noritake Factory and Nagoya Castle. The China place was better then I thought it would be. They had some interactive stuff for kids and really nice grounds. The castle I am sure was awesome, but I was really really tired and slept through the tour inside. My mom and grandparents seemed to think it was neat. Dad had to go to work so he missed out this time. Maybe we’ll go again…well I’m pretty sure we’ll go again!
A friend called and said she wanted to meet us in Nagoya. We were pretty excited because we had never been to the Aquarium so she was going to show us around. The Aquarium was really cool. My favorite part was definitely the dolphin show.
Outside the Aquarium there is a really big orange ship. It actually went down to Antarctica many years ago. So cool! Someday I hope to get to go back and explore more areas down at the Port. I’ll tell you by the end of the day I was wore out…the train was the perfect place to snooze a bit!
Since Grandma and Grandpa are here we decided to take them around to some famous tour sites. Today we went to the castle in town. It was pretty cool. We found this neat bridge and grandmother took some family shots. I can’t wait until I get to dress up as a samurai, but for right now they kind of scare me.
Happy Birthday Jesus! What a fun day between presents, church and friends coming for dinner. I really enjoyed opening all the presents and especially when they were ones I could play with! So fun!
The video is the kids in Church singing silent night. I didn’t quite feel up to singing, but towards the end I kept beat with my shaker.
My friends invited me over for lunch on Christmas Eve because they created a drama depicting the Birth of Christ. I was going to be in the production, but at the last minute I thought it was selfish to steal the spotlight and decided to watch and be supportive in that way. My friend did a great job and I really enjoyed the singing, drama, and costumes! It was a great way to prepare for tomorrow and Christmas.
After the drama we enjoyed a super delicious cake made by my friend’s mom. In Japan the tradition is to have strawberry cake on Christmas. I like this tradition!
We went to the big outreach Christmas dinner at the Nisshin Church. At first I was quite shy with all the new people around, but eventually I opened up and had a lot of fun. Mom caught this picture of me playing with a doll. I don’t care though because it was fun!
This year we didn’t have room for a real Christmas tree and a fake Christmas tree takes up space to store. Mom came up with an idea of creating our own tree. Some of my friends came over and thanks to my grandmother bringing craft kits from America we had a party. After reading about Jesus’ birth, decorating the tree, and lunch we decorated cookies! Now they were delicious!
